What If Pantera Sounded Like Gojira?

What If Pantera Sounded Like Gojira?
I like what you did, but this ain't it chief. Then again, I'm one of the few who REALLY liked this original album, right down to the untuned cooking pot snare drum. Really wasn't feeling the vocals on this. Dude is a good singer, but I just didn't like throwing it back so far. I feel Metaliica had evolved a lot by this point, and this song was just trying very hard to be their old self, which is the opposite of what they were doing with St. Anger... They were re-finding themselves in the middle of a time filled with personal rage, angst, and pain all undealth with yet in a way that was killing James. This has none of that, while again, just trying really hard to sound like 1980's Metallica to appease those fans who haven't been happy since the 80's.
That bloodbath was nasty
Yeah really good! I think a little less reverb on the vocals would bring them a little more ‘in your face’ but all around awesome!
11
Actually aged very well.
I liked St. Anger🤷♂️
I don't like it. I Prefer the original. But no hate, you can play and I like your voice. For me the emotion of the song is missing.
More appropriate title: "Polishing a turd."
This video just earned you another subscriber.
Thanks for watching and the Sub! :)
For me i love the riff in the song rain at breakdown part Pull harder on the string of your martyr at breakdown part And the deceive break down part What the dead men say intro part
Guitars sound so artificial.
Nice try... but I prefer the OG
I could watch that all day
do you do master volume up, channel volume down or the opposite?
I generally leave the Master down. On Orange amps pushing the Master tends to push the Mids and low Mids a lot which I don’t like too much. But others for sure will love that sound, especially as it’s louder :)
I live versions at way better the modern day ones add solos and all the drums
a quite nice.. 11! 🤟
so wait... I can play all of Trivum with 2 strings?!?! But the other 4 strings are gonna be pissed.
Yeah, that chorus hits pretty hard. Pretty sure my neighbors are going to learn to enjoy this one.
20 years in reflection can alter a Metallica becoming Megadeath... and the alteration becomes silly, irrelevant and tiring. Everything St Anger stood for evaporates and is looong gun...
I’d love to see something in the style of my chemical romance
It’s not the riffs, it’s the production quality and unmanaged writing. None of St Anger songs should be over 4 minutes.
I call that album Saint Anus because it stinks. This is much better
sick
Can you please do the whole album?
Everybody talks about the snare or the lack of guitar solos of that album, but the real problem with the St. Anger is that Jason fucking left the fucking band 😢
For me, it feels somewhat 'mixed'. On one hand, it fixes what was definitely missing in St. Anger: coherence in the sound, flowing riffs (instead of the cut-and-paste feel of the album), the right snare sound... definitely a version that gets several things right. But on the other hand, I feel that the song is played a bit too fast. In my opinion, you lose a lot of the "groove" by playing it at this tempo. Played a bit slower, the simple riffs would have stood out much better. Overall, it's certainly a good alternative version, but I can't determine which one is better. Both miss the mark in a few areas.
I think you should definitely have more views than you're getting
My band in 2015 would cover pull harder and people would go ape shit!
The drum is wrong, bro. Where is jembe, darbuka songs?
12
the main riff needs that last note your dropping or it's not a riff anymore. ba na na na naa - ba - ba na na na naa.
SOAD sounds mores like Static X. Nice job anyway
Speaking of donkey's years, there was this donkey that got free in California, and was found years later living with a herd of elk. So is this neck super chonky, like the baritone?
10 for sure
Do Melodic vs Diminished
St anger was unique in its own way. It’s different but it’s also not bad. When you’re in a band, there’s that stress of hoping your new album will be praised well
I'm sure the system song is 3 days grace...
Trivium is one of the few bands or artist that I can listen to their whole albums. Others are Avenged Sevenfold, In Flames, and Five Finger Death Punch.
Man, you are doing God’s work❤
9.5
Sounds good. Though it’s more complicated than any solo I’ve ever written
Isn't kirk's invisible kid tuning just basically Drop D#? They play in E flat standard so that's probably just drop E flat
Kirk is an octave higher than James in that song yeah so I can imagine them just playing it in Drop D# live :)
Great riff! 9 from me. I wish the drums were more engaging / interesting in, it would help it stand out even more :)
Sounds like something you'd hear in a Castlevania game. 9/10
Getting some slight Chiodos Illuminaudio vibes here. 10/10
this album is a monster !!
Been watching you for a long time now. I'm in my 50's and I was thinking about starting to learn guitar. Do you think it's too late to do that?
Never too late. Keep it fun, stick with it and I don’t see a reason why you couldn’t :)
10 all day . Pure badass heaviness that has a classical flavor too. Love it.
